















































































The 2010 catastrophic Haiti earthquake was a magnitude 7.0 Mw earthquake. It is believed that the epicentre was near the the town of Léogâne, 16 miles west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital.
The earthquake occurred just before 17h local time on Tuesday, 12 January. By 24 January, numerous aftershocks measuring 4.5 or greater had been recorded.An estimated three million people were affected by the earthquake.
The Haitian government reported that an estimated 316,000 people had died, 300,000 had been injured and 1,000,000 made homeless.
Fifteen year-old Fabienne Cherisma was shot dead by police at approximately 4pm, January 19th, 2010.
